Romans 12:9-13
"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality."

A Memorial Day We Will Not Forget!

Well we had a very exciting Memorial Day this year...it all started out as a harmless day with good friends at the beach...We always have a large group of families that typically go on Memorial Day and 4th of July. Well this year we were a little worried about the weather but it ended up being a gorgeous day! I have a story though, which is why I will never forget this Memorial Day and why I will also not go back in the ocean water for quite some time....We had been at the beach for a couple of hours and a few of girls said we wanted to get in- it was really hot! So we start walking out till the water is a little higher than our knees when we see this guy about 5 feet away poking at something in the water. He had his kids with him so I was assuming one of them was swimming and he was telling them to come up. Well he started pulling at something and then I thought it must be an animal or something...so I get kind of scared thinking its a shark and he turns around to us and tells us to get out of the water and get help...so we kind of back up and he's still pulling and turns it over and it is a DEAD BODY!!!!! Oh my gosh I have never been so freaked...seriously 5 feet away so my sister and I go running up the beach to tell everyone and for someone to call 911. At first no one could understand what I'm saying (picture a 7 1/2 pregnant girl RUNNING up the beach screaming ) People rush down and the water and pull him out and try CPR and can definitely tell he had been in the water for awhile. We come to find out that this guy had gone missing the day before about 8 miles down when he was boogie boarding with some friends and the current took him out. Police and everyone were there within minutes and wanted interviews with some us- I declined but a few of the others did them. I am just so thankful to God that the man found him before we did- thankfully he was in good shape since he had only been in the water for a day. It was still SO SCARY!

If you want to see the news story and the interviews here's the link.

What Chris has been up to lately......

I realize I probably don't update on what Chris is doing as much as I should so I figured this was necessary....He probably won't be taking any deep sea fishing trips for awhile (at least until he's back to work) but here's a some pics of his favorite hobby from some months past :) They typically like to go about 15-30 miles out (too long of a day for me!) and leave at 4:30 am!

Yes that is a shark

And yes, that is a gun...

Aint No Sunshine When She's Gone......

Back in the beginning of March, John surprised Ashley by flying me up to Atlanta for a visit! She was so shocked she cried :) I'm glad we were able to pull it off and we had a great time! They were fantastic hosts and have done a great job working on their new home up in Canton. I am thankful we have managed to see each other every couple of months to stay close! Thank you guys for having me! Here's some of our fun from the week!

We went to the Georgia Aquarium and saw the Titanic exhibit...they actually give you the name of an actual passenger when you go in and at the end of the exhibit you get to see if you lived....we all lived (I think). Very interesting!

John and Ashley took me to a Braves game and bought baby boy Lettow his first sports outfit! Its so cute and tiny! Can't wait till he makes his debut and can wear it! The little shoes are adorable!
