Romans 12:9-13
"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality."

Baby Food

Don't worry updates are coming SOOOON...like this afternoon hopefully. But I have a question for my mom friends..Chandler is 6 months! CRAZY!!! I just can't believe it but I haven't really started alot of solids and wanted opinions on what you did and what worked, how much and how early?? Also did you mix every food with rice cereal? My pediatrician was kind of vague on the topic (we haven't been for his 6 month appt yet, so I'm sure he will have more to say then) I'm making my own baby food but I'm still doing alot of research...

But obviously Chandler is in the "higher percentlie" for his weight :) so I wasn't going to push solids too early.

I love my little chunk!

Hey girl! We started Brooke on baby foods a couple weeks ago, and I've been introducing a new food every 3 days, she seems to like having the variety. I don't usually put rice cereal in the baby food, but I try to mix in some breastmilk if its too thick. I'm making my own too, so if you have any questions, let me know. I've made plums, carrots, sweet potatos, butternut squash and peas. (She hasn't tried squash or peas yet, squash is tomorrow and then we'll do pears, bc I'm making them this week and the doctor suggested doing a fruit in the morning and a vegetable in the afternoon)

check out the website wholesomebabyfood.com It is a wonderful resource. I do not think there is any science to the whole baby food thing. I would give him liquids first and then solids. I would start solids just once a day at the morning or early afternoon feed. That way you can watch for an allergic reaction and call the doctor if needed. We never did rice cereal. Instead we do oatmeal. The oatmeal does not bind babies up like the rice does. Pears and sweet potatoes are a good first food. If he is liking the solids then the 2nd week give him two meals a day and the third week give him 3 meals a day. Good luck and have fun! Please feel free to ask me any questions that you have. I also make my own babyfood and I have been through this twice as a mom and several times as a nanny!
